NC 4th of July Festival and Fireworks
For over 200 years, Southport has celebrated our nation's Independence in a big way and they invite you to join over 50,000 other guests in the celebrations! Today, the festival remembers the sacrifices made, celebrates freedom and promotes family fun through the many festival events offered to all ages. The celebration includes: Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Military Band Concert, Naturalization Ceremony, Flag Raising Ceremony, Flag Retirement Ceremony, Veteran’s Recognition Ceremony, Fire Fighter's Freedom Competition, 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit, over 100 arts & craft booths, food vendors, parade, children's games and entertainment, live stage entertainment, Franklin Square Art Gallery’s National Art Show, Shine & Show Classic Car Show, voter registration, Old Jail tours, Lions Club Boat raffle drawing, Cape Fear Yacht Club’s Commodore Regatta, St. Philip Church self-guided tours, Old Smithville Cemetery tour, live professional wrestling, pancake breakfast, and more. At the end of the night catch the 20-minute fireworks show from the waterfront or anchor your boat in the harbor. After the fireworks, check out to the band on the Waterfront Stage.
Fireworks will take place at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 over the Southport waterfront.
