When Ethel P. Savage's husband dies and leaves her $10 million, she decides to give the entire fortune away to help people pursue their "foolish dreams." This does not sit well with her stepchildren, who try to prevent the beneficence by committing her to a sanitarium. There, Mrs. Savage finds her true family among the kind and loyal psychiatric patients.
First staged on Broadway in 1950, "The Curious Savage," written by John Patrick, will be performed by Main Street Theatre on the weekends of May 11-13 and 18-20 at the Tucker Rec Center stage in Tucker.
