Auditions for 'Zanna, Don't: A Quantum Football Fable' at Out Front Theatre
On May 6 and 13, performers ages 14-21 are invited to audition for Out Front Theatre Company’s world premiere of the updated production, Zanna, Don’t: a Quantum Football Fable. Set to hit the stage from July 27 – 29, the updated production is based on the original off-Broadway hit by Tim Acito, which debuted in 2003. “Perhaps above all, the show wants us to think again about what else we can aspire to be, beyond sexuality or gender identity. While those are two central aspects of human identity, of equal or greater importance is discovering what we stand for – morally, personally, and politically – and having the courage to pursue those ideals,” said Acito in reference to his updated show. Zanna, Don’t: a Quantum Football Fable is set in a world where everyone is gay--well, almost everyone! At Heartsville High, the big-man-on-campus is the chess champion, and the captain of the football team is made cool by being cast as the lead in the school musical. The students write a controversial show called "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" about straight people in the military, which becomes the catalyst for a young man and woman to fall in love. Enter Zanna, a magical, musical fairy who, with a wave of his wand, brings true love to one and all! Auditions will take place Saturday May 6th and 13th, with callbacks ONLY on Sunday May 14. All dates will begin at 5 pm. Please Email email@example.com for an audition appointment. For more information, visit www.outfronttheatre.com.
