This course provides an excellent way to focus your study on the portrait and advance your drawing skills. Emphasis on developing a 'structural model' based on it's attitudes/tension/ambience and decoration with additional focus on proportion, composition and working towards achieving a likeness. During the session, at least two classes will focus on creating well-crafted, believable hair, a human element that at times is at least as challenging as the entire facade. Learn to see, understand, formulate & dynamically render the human portrait on paper. All drawing media are acceptable (charcoal pencils, color pencils, pastels, conte, and watercolor) to describe the body's physical structure, attitude, proportion, dynamics and tension. A group critique of the work will conclude each class. Live models will be used for all classes. Model fees will be collected by the instructor at the first class.
