Chamberlain Hrdlicka Tax Forum

March 21, 2017
4:30 pm
Commerce Club - Atlanta

Chamberlain Hrdlicka announces that its Atlanta office will host a Tax Forum at the Commerce Club on Tuesday, March 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST. Shareholder David Aughtry will lead the forum with the help of attorneys John Hackney, Scot Kirkpatrick and Kristen Lowther. The presentation will address the ramifications of “reportable transaction” notices for captives, conservation partnerships and their participants. Complete details and registration are available here. “In the waning days of the Obama Administration, the IRS issued notice 2016-66 and Notice 2017-10 classifying captives and conservation easement partnerships as transactions of interest and, therefore, reportable transactions,” explains David Aughtry. “With the extension of the captive filing date, the Forms 8886 and 8918 must be filed for all material advisors and participants by May 1, 2017. Prior to May 1, firms must determine the breadth of the material advisor and, along with their clients, decide who needs to file, what needs to be said, and how far back the filing must go. During the tax forum, we will address these and other questions, as well as facilitate an informed discussion about the upcoming filing date.”
