For the last 34 years, Ed Gerhard has been presenting a Christmas Guitar Concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, near his home. This year for the first time The Six String Social Club is bringing Ed's heartfelt Christmas performance to the Atlanta area. Join us for this very special evening with one of the country's finest acoustic guitarists. Gerhard will perform soulful arrangements of well-loved carols, as well as his own concert favorites. Fans of guitar music and Christmas alike will want to be a part of this memorable show. Portsmouth Magazine call Ed's show "the premier holdiday event on the Seacoast."
Gerhard has been awarded the coveted GRAMMY(R) Award for his inclusion on Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar. Gerhard arranged and performed "Moon River." His recordings and performances have received unstinting praise, including the Boston Glove Critics' Pick for "Top Ten Albums of the Year." Acoustic Guitar Magazine writes "...his recordings and live performances have established him as one of the most exciting of the guitar-composers." Ken Burns featured his music in his documentary "Mark Twain" and "The National Parks: America's Best Idea."
His CD "Luna" is featured in Acoustic Guitar Magazine's 20th Anniversary list of the "240 Essential Albums." "This soulful album of original compositions rich in melody, chordal complexity and stylistic variety proves why Gerhard is considered to have the most exquisite acoustic guitar tone on the planet."
