Rock Eagle invites you to Family Fishing Day Saturday, September 23rd. Celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day on Rock Eagle Lake with family and friends. No fishing permit required. Don’t know how to fish? No problem! Rock Eagle Environmental Educators will be on site to help bait hooks, and share knowledge about the sport. Bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy a day of outdoor family fun.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the lake in our canoes. Rock Eagle staff will accompany participants and provide all necessary equipment. If you’ve never been canoeing before, this is a great place to learn. Instructors will go over boat safety, equipment, and help to perfect your paddling. Rock Eagle’s picturesque scenery provides the perfect opportunity to see ospreys, turtles, fish, and other exciting creatures. Canoe sites will be open 9:30-11:30am.
If you need to take a break from fishing, cool off with some of our animal ambassadors. Our feathered, slimy, and scaly friends will visit 10:00-11:30am. Trails will also be open during the event.
This program is appropriate for all ages. Gate will open at 8:30am. Cost will be $3 per person. Advanced registration is required. Limited number of fishing poles will be available, so experienced fishermen are encouraged to bring their own. For more information or to register please contact Jessica Torhan at (706) 484-4838 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
