In July, the summer heat brings Kinchafoonee Cowboys, a classic country band whose popularity spread in Athens while several of the members attended UGA. The Cowboys are favorites around the state of Georgia and have shared billing with entertainers such as Alabama, Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews Band, and many others. Held one Sunday evening each month, May through September, the outdoor concert series is free and open to the public and has become a celebrated community tradition each summer. Concerts are held from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. and are located at Heritage Green on The Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn, 6110 Blue Stone Road, Sandy Springs, Georgia. Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to picnic with family and friends. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. Blankets, lawn chairs, and coolers are welcomed; no outside tables permitted. Additional food will be available for purchase from specialty food vendors and food trucks. Beer, wine, sodas, and water will be available for sale, with proceeds benefiting Heritage Sandy Springs. Smoking is prohibited. No pets, except for special assist animals.
