Marionette Manipulation Workshop by Tanglewood Marionettes

LEVEL: beginner

DESCRIPTION: After a brief primer on marionette construction and stringing, participants will learn the fundamentals of marionette manipulation. Students will begin with simple movements, such as turning the puppet's head or raising its hand, and then progress to compound movements, such as sitting or walking. Emphasis will be placed on carefully observing real-world movement and body language. The workshop will culminate with the participants applying the techniques learned in a fun group exercise.
