"Natural Shocks" is a new, unpublished play written by Decatur native Laura Gunderson, named America's most produced playwright in 2018 by American Theatre Magazine. It is a one-woman tour-de-force that drives home the reality of guns in America. "Natural Shocks" will be performed in Atlanta by actor/activist Sheri Mann Stewart and narrated by Dr. Yvonne Singh. Following the 65-minute play, a panel of leading Atlanta artists and activists will discuss the intersection of arts and activism. This play will also be performed all over the country this weekend in conjunction with the National School Walkout, a nationwide demonstration against gun violence scheduled for April 20th, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine massacre. Suggested donation is $20. Proceeds will benefit two gun-violence prevention organizations – Moms Demand Action (Georgia Branch), and Life Camp, Inc. Presented in conjunction with Mann Woman Productions and The UUCA Performing Arts Coordinating Team. For more information, contact Sheri Mann Stewart at Sheribarry@hotmail.com.
