The DeKalb Symphony Orchestra features Young Artists Concerto Competition Finalists
The DeKalb Symphony Orchestra is excited to feature three finalists of their Young Artists Concerto Competition. Along with receiving cash awards, the winners of the competition will be performing movements from selected pieces with the orchestra. First place winner, sixteen-year old violinist Phoebe Liu, will perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto. Second place winner, sixteen-year old pianist Yuy Hsiang, will perform Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2. Third place winner, fourteen-year old cellist Lexine Feng, will perform Lalo’s Cello Concerto. The DSO is delighted to be able to showcase some of Atlanta’s finest young musical talents. Also on the program is Overture to Nabucco and the world premiere of “Impressions from Japan” by Atlanta composer, Amy Leventhal.
