Historical Fashion Show and Lunch in the Bethel School House
Saturday March 17, 2018 @ 11:15 am
Historical Jonesboro/Clayton County is hosting a historical fashion show luncheon featuring styles from the past. Historic costumers, Kat Nagar and Marie Walker will speak about the costumes they've created for theater, dance and reenacting. The costumes range from the Middle Ages through the 1860's.
Kat Nagar is the director of the Atlanta Historic Dance Company. She started making historic costumes 20 years ago to wear while performing. Researching and recreating costumes and dance is her passion and labor of love. Marie Walker is a history major at the University of Georgia. She is a living historian who has costumed many theatrical productions and also hosts a Living History Event each September at Stately Oaks Plantation.
The lunch will be a special meal paying homage to the beloved Chicken Salad Plate from The Magnolia Room of Rich's Department Store. We will feature several of Rich’s original recipes. This unique event promises to be a fun and memorable time. Tickets are $30 and include lunch, dessert, and the fashion show. All tickets must be purchased in advance by calling (770) 473-0197. The Bethel School House is located next to Stately Oaks at 100 Carriage Lane in Jonesboro, GA.
