LEGO Robotics for Aspiring Filmmakers (Pre-K to 2nd Grade)
Do you love LEGOs and robots? Do you like to take pictures and film the world around you? Have you ever wondered how movie trailers are made? Discover how to make a movie trailer at MODA’s LEGO Robotics for Aspiring Filmmakers half-day camp!
In this camp, participants will go behind the scenes and experience the filmmaking process first-hand. Using LEGO WeDos, budding filmmakers will build, prototype and design robots to star as characters in their trailer. They will learn coding basics to develop a robot that moves and responds to different scenes and in the world around them.
Working together to create a trailer, young filmmakers will make a storyboard and set using WeDos, K’Nex, and other tools. They will brainstorm ways to create, build, and develop their robotic creations.
At the end of the week, campers will be introduced to Filmora - a free film editing software, where they will explore how to add music, create voiceovers, and begin learning how to edit their scenes into a final cut!
Join us again later in the summer for a movie premiere at MODA, complete with yummy snacks. Following the premiere, each camper will leave with a copy of their film to take home.
