On the night of October 5, power meets purpose! Families, friends and colleagues forge bonds while engaging in an immersive experience to support homeless families.
Nicholas House's Off the Street, On Their Feet: Sleep Out to Support Homeless Families is a movement of individuals who accept the challenge to sleep outside in Nicholas House's Grant Park shelter yard for one night in solidarity with homeless families. Participants raise awareness and funds to support Nicholas House programs helping homeless families achieve self-sufficiency.
Participants agree to strive to fundraise a certain amount in support of their participation:
$500 for single individuals
$250 for students (with current ID)
$1,000 for couples
$2,500 for groups (of up to 4 individuals)
The night of the event, participants and their guests will share a meal with the clients at the shelter and enjoy a program with moving testimonials before participants bed down for the night with cardboard and a sleeping bag to gain insight into what it's like to sleep unsheltered in the elements.
Your participation will make a world of difference for homeless families striving to get back on their feet! Participants must be age 18 or older and are encouraged to sign up well in advance of the event to allow for time to fundraise to reach their goal. Participants must sign up to attend.
