ONE: A Kinetic Journal is a contemporary dance performance that uses movement, storytelling, sound, improvisation, and technology to explore the diverse meanings of the word "one."
ONE: A Kinetic Journal investigates themes of solitude, chosen and accidental isolation, personal power and disempowerment, loneliness, and the search for wholeness in a volatile world. The individual dance pieces diverge, meander, and ultimately intertwine to offer many viewpoints of “one.”
ONE Movement Project is a collective of Atlanta-based artists Alejandro Abarca, Myra Bazell, and Emily Christianson, Philadelphia-based artist Lillian Ransijn, and San Diego-based artist Alicia Peterson Baskel.
This program is supported in part by The Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs. Additional support is provided by Core Dance, as well as friends and family of the participating artists.
