Presenters: Nidia Fernandez has worked with struggling readers for 20 years in Kindergarten through 3rd-grade classrooms. She is Orton-Gillingham (O-G) trained and integrates the O-G Approach into her daily classroom teaching. Nidia Fernandez is the K - 3rd Grade Coordinator at Saint Francis School. Celia Spartz, M.Ed., and Jennifer Parks, M.Ed., have taught 3rd through 5th-grade classrooms for a combined 20 years. Celia Spartz is a Wilson Level 1 Certified Teacher/Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner as well as a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist as accredited by the IDA. Jennifer Parks is a Level 1 and Level 2 Wilson Certified Teacher/Wilson Dyslexia Therapist, a Wilson Credentialed Teacher Trainer, and a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Specialist as accredited by the IDA.
Outreach events such as this provide opportunities for individuals to connect in person with parents, educators, and others interested in learning and engaging in discussions about dyslexia and related topics.
